MoMA Holiday Card Program 2016: Call for Designs!

Monday, March 23, 2015 1:30 PM | Deleted user

The Museum of Modern Art’s holiday card program began in 1954 with the introduction of holiday cards created by contemporary artists and designers whose work was represented in the Museum’s exhibitions or permanent collection.

Each year, MoMA selects artwork submitted by designers and artists whose designs reflect The Museum of Modern Art, modernism, and innovation in card design. Historically, MoMA has produced holiday cards celebrating Christmas, Hanukkah, New Year’s, and the general holiday season.

All proceeds from the sale of MoMA products are used to support The Museum of Modern Art and its programs.

All artwork must be received by April 17, 2015

Send entries to:
Karen Hernandez
Product Manager, Art Reproductions
The Museum of Modern Art
11 West 53rd Street
New York, NY 10019

Through a selection process involving members of the MoMA Retail group, submissions are selected for inclusion in the Museum’s newest holiday card line developed each calendar year.

What to keep in mind for exemplary MoMA card designs:
-innovation in paper engineering
-new approaches to interactivity
-experimentation
-uniqueness
-intelligence and sophistication
-the element of surprise
-cards that embrace the spirit of the holidays
-quality in design and production new ways of looking at imagery
